TT Ass. Prof. Quantum Algorithms for Chemistry&Life Science

The Department of Chemistry, together with the Novo Nordisk Quantum Computing Programme (NQCP) and the Quantum For Life Centre, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the field of quantum algorithms for chemistry and life science. Applicants are expected to hold a PhD in Chemistry or a closely related area (physics, biochemistry, materials science) and be active in the field of quantum computation applied to chemistry or life science. 

The environment
The appointment will be in the Department of Chemistry and the appointee will be affiliated with both NQCP (https://nqcp.ku.dk) and the Quantum For Life Centre (https://quantumforlife.ku.dk). The appointment is designed to strengthen the research connections between the Department of Chemistry and these two large research activities. Furthermore, as one of the initial appointments in the Algorithms and Applications area of NQCP, the tenure-track assistant professor is expected to take a leading role in developing the quantum algorithms area within this programme, with a vision to solving problems of chemical and biological significance on fault-tolerant quantum computing hardware. Within the Quantum for Life Center, the appointee is expected to contribute in a leading role with expertise in theoretical chemistry to the development of quantum computing for molecular biology.
