Interruptor Background 02

Postdoc Positions in the Theoretical Quantum Sciences

LMU Munich/University of Geneva

Applications are invited from outstanding and highly motivated postdoctoral candidates with a background in theoretical and computational chemistry, quantum information theory, many-body physics, quantum computing, or mathematical physics to contribute to frontier research at their interface.

The positions are embedded in an ERC Consolidator Grant-funded research programme BeyondDFT. The Schilling group is expected to relocate on 1 September 2026 to the University of Geneva. Depending on fit and available funding, involvement is possible in one or more of the following long-term research programs:

P1: Systematic framework of functional theories for strongly correlated electrons (BeyondDFT)

P2: OpenMolcas: Code development for quantum chemistry

P3: Tensor network methods for quantum chemistry

P4: Foundations of quantum computing: fermionic systems

P5: Quantum information theory for fermions

Application deadline: 15 March 2026

Expected start date: Flexible, ideally 1 September 2026
