By leveraging the diverse interdisciplinary team within QIA, the alliance aims to establish an innovative European platform for Quantum Internet development. The overarching goal is to construct a full-stack prototype network, potentially becoming the world's first of its kind.

Led by QuTech, QIA comprises academic institutions, telecom operators, system integrators, and quantum technology start-ups spanning eight European countries. The project is presently co-funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant number 101102140

Qilimanjaro

Qilimanjaro is a full-stack quantum computing company with a distinctive approach aimed at maximising current technology capabilities to provide practical quantum advantage in a shorter time frame. Utilizing the analogue model of quantum computation, the company employs high-quality superconducting flux qubits and versatile qubit-qubit interactions to construct application-specific quantum devices (QASIC). Qilimanjaro adopts a co-design approach, bringing the design of the quantum chip closer to the use-case.

The company offers an exclusive "Quantum as a Service" model, enabling remote access to its unique quantum computing platforms. Additionally, Qilimanjaro provides a boutique service for the deployment and integration of in-premises quantum computers.

QoolNet - UPM

QoolNet emerged as the winning idea of a spin-off during the final phase of the ACTUAUPM program for entrepreneurship. The company's innovative concept centers around providing a solution for the construction and operation of production-ready quantum-safe networks.

QoolNet specialises in evolving already deployed networks to become quantum-safe, showcasing its capabilities through participation in various research projects. The platform developed by QoolNet for managing quantum-safe networks exhibits compatibility with every Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) system and encryptor. It is designed to operate seamlessly over heterogeneous networks, offering full suitability for cryptographic and network services. The platform is grounded in industry standards, with some standards developed by QoolNet itself within the paradigm of Software Defined Network.

QoolNet has successfully conducted proof-of-concept demonstrations to showcase the compatibility of its solution with both quantum and classical systems.

QSNP

QSNP is a European Quantum Flagship project that aims to develop quantum cryptography technology to secure the transmission of information over the internet.

QSNP will contribute to the European sovereignty in quantum technology for cybersecurity protecting the privacy and the sensitive information of European citizens transmitted over the internet.

QuKomIn

The QuKomIn project, initiated by the Max Planck Institute for Light in Erlangen, aims to establish a tangible test infrastructure for quantum communication. This infrastructure takes the form of a hybrid fibre optic network, integrating satellite connections and housing application laboratories in the Erlangen/Nuremberg and Munich/Oberpfaffenhofen regions. The project operates in close collaboration with neighbouring initiatives in Saxony and Thuringia, as well as the QuNET initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Key partners in the QuKomIn project include FAU, Fraunhofer IIS, DLR, and LMU. With funding totalling approximately €15 million from the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy (StMWi), this MQV lighthouse project is set to span a five-year period.

Quside

At Quside, the belief is that advances in technology create new capabilities that can transform the way billions of people communicate and compute. The mission is to deliver the highest performance quantum random number generators (QRNGs) to empower the transition to safer connectivity and more efficient computation for everyone, everywhere. Since the launch of Quside's first product, a high-quality QRNG based on their phase-diffusion technology, there has been continuous expansion of the product portfolio. This includes improvements to current solutions, such as key generation or Monte Carlo simulations, and enabling solutions that were previously impossible. Quside's quantum random number generators are recognized for making a significant difference in customers’ solutions.

As an active member of the European quantum community and the Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC), Quside is also a key contributor to various projects for the European Commission (Qrange and Civiq projects for the Quantum Flagship program) and national efforts (Clave, Caramuel, QuSpin).
