QSNP

"Technology development in Quantum Cryptography for future deployment in EuroQCI and private Telecom sector."

QSNP is a European Quantum Flagship project that aims to develop quantum cryptography technology to secure the transmission of information over the internet.

QSNP will contribute to the European sovereignty in quantum technology for cybersecurity protecting the privacy and the sensitive information of European citizens transmitted over the internet.

Team

Valerio Pruneri

Valerio Pruneri is an ICREA Industrial Professor, Corning Inc. chair, and group leader at ICFO. As the Coordinator of the Quantum Flagship project Quantum Secure Networks Partnership (QSNP), he plays a crucial role in the Spanish initiative related to EuroQCI, focusing on quantum communications. With extensive industry experience at Avanex Corporation, Corning OTI, and Pirelli Optical Technologies, Valerio has over 50 granted or pending patent families, an h-index of 58 (Google Scholar), and numerous awards for his research and technology transfer efforts, including the Philip Morris Prize, the Pirelli Research Fellowship, the IBM Faculty Award, and more.

Álvaro Cuevas

Álvaro Cuevas is an experimental physicist specialising in quantum information and photonics. His PhD focused on studying various information propagation phenomena with the assistance of entanglement. Currently holding a postdoc position in Prof. Valerio Pruneri’s group at ICFO, Álvaro contributes to the development of practical technologies for quantum-enhanced imaging and communications. He is actively involved in projects like QSNP, EuroQCI-Spain, QUDICE, Q-Networks, and Complementarias.

Carlos Abellan

Carlos Abellan is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Quside. Holding a PhD in quantum technologies from ICFO, he specialises in industrialising quantum technologies for encryption and supercomputing applications. An author of over 10 scientific articles, contributor to international conferences, and inventor of various patents, Carlos is recognised as an MIT Innovator under 35 Europe 2018. He actively participates in science and technology dissemination through avenues like TEDx talks and the Pint of Science festival.

Simone Capeleto

Simone Capeleto is the Co-founder and CEO of Thinkquantum. As a member of the Governing Board of euroQuIC (European Quantum Industry Consortium), Simone, an engineer with a Ph.D. in Space Science and Technology, brings diverse experience in telecommunication systems, space technologies, operations, business innovation, and mergers & acquisitions. Before co-founding Thinkquantum, he held various roles within the OSRAM group.

Eleni Diamanti

Eleni Diamanti is a CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) researcher at the LIP6 laboratory of Sorbonne Université. With a Ph.D. from Stanford University, her research focuses on quantum cryptography and the development of photonic resources for quantum networks. Eleni has made significant contributions to the practical implementation of quantum cryptographic protocols beyond QKD. She serves on various committees, including the Paris Center for Quantum Computing (PCQC) and the Board of Stakeholders of the European Commission Public-Private Partnership in Photonics. Eleni is also an Associate Editor for Science Advances and IOP Quantum Science and Technology.
