Maintaining Europe’s leadership in quantum technologies requires coordinated efforts across all EU Member States, with a strong focus on inclusion and diversity. To support this, the Quantum Flagship’s Strategic Advisory Board (SAB) has introduced a new set of Key Inclusion Indicators (KIIs) aimed at complementing existing Key Performance Indicators.
The KIIs focus on:
Strategy Gap: Number of EU Member States with funded national quantum programmes.
Geographical Inclusion: Participation of Widening Countries in EU-funded projects.
Gender Inclusion: Female representation among project leaders.
Approved at the SAB meeting on 14 February 2024, the KIIs will be published annually alongside the KPI report. The 2024 edition sets baseline measurements without targets, laying the foundation for future progress tracking.
This initiative highlights the Quantum Flagship’s commitment to a more inclusive and balanced European quantum ecosystem – crucial for global competitiveness and long-term excellence.
