Since 2019, the Quantum Flagship has actively participated in the MWC, an annual event held in Barcelona, recognized as the world's largest and most influential gathering for the mobile technology ecosystem. This year's Congress, held from 26 to 29 February, drew over 101,000 attendees from 205 countries worldwide.
Curated by ICFO, the European Quantum Flagship's 100m2 stand featured a display of quantum technology companies and initiatives, presenting their most mature technologies and disruptive innovations. The stand served as a platform for these entities to engage with a global audience and advance the integration of quantum technologies into the market.
Visitor interest in quantum technologies was palpable, with attendees eager to learn about the European Commission's initiatives to bolster Europe's academic and industrial prowess in this field. Moreover, there was a keen interest in understanding how quantum technologies could be incorporated into various industries.
The European Quantum Zone brought together European quantum companies and initiatives, each showcasing their products and services within the stand.
The European Quantum Space, which saw over 500 MWC participants, hosted companies and initiatives unveiling their latest products and milestones. Through a series of Quantum Coffee Talks, participants engaged with the audience, fostering potential synergies and business opportunities.
Notable institutional visits to the space included the Minister of Research and Universities of the Government of Catalonia, Mr. Joaquim Nadal; the Secretary of Digital Policies of the Government of Catalonia, Ms. Gina Tost; and a delegation from the UK Government's Department for Business and Trade.
