33400 Talence - Bordeaux, France
Tenure track professeur - Quantum technologies with Photonics
The University of Bordeaux is hiring a Professor Tenure Track in Quantum Technologies integrating advances in photonics.
The laureate will develop experimental research at the Laboratoire Photonique Numérique et Nanosciences (IOGS, CNRS, Univ. Bordeaux) focusing for example, on hybrid quantum systems; the study of qubits and entanglement; quantum information; quantum simulation, quantum computing; collective quantum effects; nanophotonics and quantum light sources; quantum sensing, metrology and imaging, etc
The laureate will participate in the implementation of an introductory course on quantum sciences and technologies in the Bachelor's program (CMA QuanTEdu-France) and in the expansion of the teaching offer in the Master's of the graduate program LIGHT by proposing a pedagogy favoring hands-on learning in laboratories on this theme.
By opening up new prospects for experimental research and training in quantum physics and its applications, this chair will strengthen the scientific potential of the Bordeaux site in the field. In addition to the salary, a startup package will be offered for this position.
About Laboratoire Photonique Numérique et Nanoscience (LP2N) :
LP2N's goal is to develop high-level research in optics and photonics and their interfaces. LP2N is a dynamic and highly interdisciplinary laboratory, also integrating a strong culture for innovation and partnership research. In this context, and since the creation of the laboratory in 2011, the development of quantum technologies has been one of its research priorities.
In addition, the laboratory plays a leading role in structuring research and training in quantum physics, whether at the level of the University of Bordeaux (GPR LIGHT, EUR LIGHT projects), at the regional level (NAQUIDIS project), at the national level (EquipEx projects, PEPR quantum, CMA QuanTEdu-France) and at the international level (Quantum Flagship, European projects)
The professor tenure track will integrate naturally into this exceptional ecosystem and will allow the diversification of its research themes to strengthen and consolidate the leadership of the laboratory and of the Bordeaux campus in quantum technologies.
