Senior Researcher - Estimation of Quantum Resources

As a part of its development, Qubit Pharmaceuticals is looking for a highly qualified Senior Researcher to lead our project on the systematic estimation of quantum resources for applications in quantum chemistry. This role involves leading the development of methodologies, performing advanced simulations, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

 


The perfect fit for this job

We are highly seeking a senior quantum algorithms scientist with a strong background in quantum computing, quantum algorithms, and computational chemistry. A scientist  who is an excellent communicator, detail-oriented with problem solving skills and a collaborative with a leadership mindset. 


Your role

  • Lead the design and development of a systematic methodology for estimating quantum resources.

  • Conduct and oversee simulations to validate the estimation framework.

  • Collaborate with other researchers and institutions in the field of quantum computing and quantum chemistry.

  • Mentor junior researchers and students involved in the project.

  • Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at conferences.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in quantum computing and related fields.

 

Your Qualifications

  • Phd in quantum computing or related field

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in the quantum computing field.

  • Strong quantum computing background, with significant experience in developing new algorithms.

  • Experience in creating a framework for estimating quantum resources, preferable for quantum chemistry applications, and in optimizing quantum algorithms.

  • Published high quality scientific research.

  • Experience of independent work, and of supervising junior colleagues/students.

  • Experience in independently developing algorithms, prove or analyze their complexity.

  • Good knowledge of fundamentals of classical numerical methods and theory of quantum chemistry, as molecular orbitals theory, variational methods and perturbation theory is preferred.

  • Experience in writing simulation software, and some level of experience in at least one of the popular quantum simulations and hardware testing platforms.

  • Ability to design specific/tailored numerical methods to various problems. Able to implement them in an efficient/optimal way. Publication record involving such design.
