Apply for this job

A focus of the ongoing activities in Department 2.4 (Quantum Electronics) at PTB is on superconducting parametric amplifiers. PTB's work in this area is based on several projects and concentrates on the further development of traveling-wave parametric amplifiers as well as on resonant circuits (known as dimer Josephson-junction array amplifiers). All circuit concepts are simulated, designed, fabricated and characterized at PTB. Your tasks in Working Group 2.42 (Coherent Superconducting Quantum Circuits) will mainly consist of:

  • Developing, designing and fabricating superconducting parametric amplifiers at PTB’s Clean Room Center
  • Further developing the cryogenic setups for measurements in the microwave frequency range
  • Characterizing the circuits at low temperatures in a helium-4 measurement setup as well as in a dilution refrigerator
  • Presenting and publishing the research results
