As part of the European Commission’s Quantum Europe Strategy, various key roadmaps will be written within the next year, each serving as a chapter of a new Strategic Research and Industry Agenda (SRIA) for quantum technologies in Europe. This roadmapping process should be community-led, involving all stakeholders from academia to industry, and it represents a considerable endeavour. Here we invite willing experts to join editor groups for the roadmaps.
The process and its timeline were outlined last week at the European Quantum Technologies Conference (EQTC) 2025 in Copenhagen. Salvatore Cinà, who led the last SRIA-writing process, and Eleni Diamanti, Vice-Chair of the Quantum Flagship Strategic Advisory Board, presented the plans to members of the community and asked them to join in the process. The new document should be finished by November 2026.
They presented a draft structure for the new SRIA:

These will each be drafted by an editor group of 8-10 experts, starting work in January 2026. Interested members of the European community are invited to join the editor groups for these roadmaps, by:
The wider community will have the opportunity to contribute to the new roadmaps and SRIA via public consultations next year. So even if you do not take part in this call, you will have the chance to give feedback – everyone should have their say.
