Call for nominations: Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Prize at EQTC 2024
The Quantum Flagship calls for nominations for the EDI Prize 2024, with a prize amount of €2,000 kindly sponsored by QUDORA. The nomination deadline is 21 October.
The European Quantum Technologies Conference (EQTC) 2024 is a major international conference held on 18 - 20 November 2024 in Lisbon, Portugal. The conference will showcase the latest developments of research and innovation in Quantum Information Science and Technology, and discuss the corresponding scientific and technological challenges ahead. The event will also feature a plenary session on diversity, various networking opportunities, exhibition spaces, and will award a prize to champions of actions towards Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in their institutions, the EDI Prize 2024. This is the prize's second year.
The EDI Prize of €2,000 will be awarded by the Quantum Flagship through its coordination and support action, QUCATS, at EQTC 2024. This year’s prize is kindly sponsored by QUDORA.
The EDI Working Group (EDI-WG) of the Quantum Flagship and the EQTC 2024 organising committee will evaluate the applicant's commitment to EDI in their institutions or networks, using the following criteria:
Track record of past actions (5 points)
Impact of actions (5 points)
Future commitments (5 points)
The prize will be announced at a plenary session at the EQTC 2024 with the scope to give recognition and visibility to such efforts.
Eligibility of nominations:
Individuals from any of the EU27 countries are eligible to apply. Both self-nominations and nominations of others are welcome.
How to submit a nomination:
Applications should be submitted to the EDI-WG of the Quantum Flagship at equality@qt.eu and must include the following:
A description of the nominated team: names and short bios of the individuals involved
Contact person for communication
Track record of past actions (max. 1 page)
Impact of those actions (max. 1 page)
Future commitments (max. 1 page)
Proposals must be submitted electronically by 21 October 2024 to equality@qt.eu.
The winner of the EDI Prize will be notified by 1 November 2024.
