The IP guideline is aimed at quantum technology players that are interested in deepening their understanding of the more effective use of IPR to support both business strategy building and operational use, to generate impact and increase their respective competitive position in the marketplace.
Divided into three main sections (IPR and intellectual assets, IPR commercialisation, IPR and standards), the document covers a wide scope of relevant topics ranging from computer-implemented inventions (CII) through to patent litigation. An appendix also gives useful information on the legal framework of EU-funded projects.
The document is authored by the European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC) and the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT), on behalf on the Quantum Flagship’s coordination and support action QUCATS.
Together with QuIC's recent release of a global patent landscape white paper, the authors hope to enable both quantity and quality increase in quantum technology development in Europe.
