Launch of 11 new pilot programs in Education

The working group on Education of the Quantum Flagship, QTEdu, has launched 11 pilot programs on education in quantum technologies.

The pilot’s formation process was a long journey that lasted several months. The team worked hard to create a framework for the new pilot programs, targeting different audiences from schools, higher education, the workforce, and the general public. Many stakeholders from several European institutions were asked to get together and cooperate, building projects that would address the main issues faced by quantum technologies education.

To facilitate the process and create a collaborative environment, the QTEdu group held networking sessions with community members during April 2021, offering an online board where community members could express their interest in participation.

After this introductory phase, and to help with the planning and collaboration activities, each pilot consortia was required to submit an application document later in May. In the document they had to state the willingness to engage in the four phases of the project, fulfilling the criteria and presenting a credible overall plan. After receiving the application review by the QTEdu team, the pilot coordinators implemented the suggestions and officially constituted the projects.

As a result, 11 Pilots were successfully formed by 130 members from 25 countries, with each pilot reaching a specific audience: schools, higher education, industry and the general public. The successful pilots and their details can be found on the QTEdu CSA webpage.
