ParityQC is the first quantum chip architecture company. We develop cutting edge quantum chip blueprints based on the Parity-Architecture. We pave the way towards scalable, fully programmable, and parallelizable quantum chips. Our architecture leverages the full potential of current hardware platforms to solve real world problems by overcoming chip-connectivity constraints through flexible layout-patterns of entangling gates.
About the job
We are looking for a Software Engineer for Quantum Computing joining our diverse team of Quantum Physicists and Quantum Software Engineers in the Use-Case-Department. In this role you will contribute to the development of our ParityQC use-case software stack, which is a unique framework for developing and testing quantum algorithms for noisy quantum hardware. You will gain insights into the whole quantum computing stack from high-level software all the way down to hardware specific instructions. When integrating different quantum methods into our main product, ParityOS, you will be faced with challenging and exiting coding tasks, connecting quantum algorithms with classical software.
Your tasks
As a Software Engineer for Quantum Computing, you will contribute to the development of a pioneer software-product for quantum algorithm development. You will work on a rapidly growing code base, integrating different tools for quantum algorithm development into a common framework. You will implement quantum algorithms as well as the necessary tooling for the development of quantum algorithms from scratch, thereby ensuring maintainability, performance, and usability of the software-stack. You will encounter challenges on both sides, quantum and classical, offering you the unique chance to grow into your role and to gain deep insights into quantum computing when solving problems as part of our world-class international team of experts.
Skills & Experience
Master’s degree in informatics, Computer Science or similar
At least 2 years of experience in professional software development
Excellent programming skills, especially Python.
High degree of curiosity and a willingness to tackle problems which are out of your comfort zone
Ability to work self-initiated and independently
Fluency in English
Preferred Experience
Some background in quantum physics is useful, but not strictly necessary
Experience in Rust, C++ or similar
Experience in HPC
Familiarity with agile software development
What we offer
We are a spin-off working in one of the most exciting emerging technology fields. There are no long-time proven concepts on what we are doing – we need to invent everything from scratch, and we are therefore able to shape a whole new generation of computing. ParityOS is the first fully cloud-based operating system for quantum computers. We are pioneers in this field and develop the blueprints for the upcoming generations. Thus, the position also offers the possibility to conduct research and publish in peer-reviewed journals. Furthermore, we offer an appealing work environment with an international, motivated team and the flexibility to partially work from home.
Hard Facts
Job: Full time
Remuneration based on experience
Place: Hamburg/ Innsbruck
How to apply
Please submit your CV and cover letter to recruiting@parityqc.com stating why you would be interested in working at ParityQC and why your experience is relevant.
