Senior Researcher - Quantum Utility in Quantum Chemistry

Qubit Pharmaceuticals is looking for an experienced Senior Researcher to lead our project exploring the utility of quantum computing in quantum chemistry applications.

This role involves leading benchmarking efforts, conducting detailed case studies, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize quantum approaches.

 

The perfect fit for this job

We are highly seeking a senior scientist for quantum algorithms for chemistry who is an excellent collaborator, multitasker. A detail-oriented scientist with a strong background in quantum computing, quantum chemistry, and performance benchmarking.


Your role

  • Lead the benchmarking of quantum algorithms and performance evaluations on different quantum hardware.

  • Conduct and oversee case studies, to determine the practical benefits of quantum computing for quantum chemistry problems.

  • Collaborate with hardware providers, software developers, and research institutions.

  • Mentor junior researchers and students involved in the project.

  • Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at conferences.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in quantum computing and related fields.

 

Your Qualifications

  • Phd in quantum computing or related field

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in the quantum computing field.

  • Strong quantum computing background, with significant experience with quantum algorithms and quantum chemistry applications.

  • Published high quality scientific research.

  • Experience of independent work, and of supervising junior colleagues/students.

  • Experience in independently developing algorithms, prove or analyze their complexity.

  • Good knowledge of fundamentals of classical numerical methods and theory of quantum chemistry, as molecular orbitals theory, variational methods and perturbation theory is preferred.

  • Experience in writing simulation software, and some level of experience in at least one of the popular quantum simulations and hardware testing platforms.

  • Ability to design specific/tailored numerical methods to various problems. Able to implement them in an efficient/optimal way. Publication record involving such design.
