We are looking for a Science and Communication Manager (m/w/d) at the Centre for Integrated Quantum Science and Technology. Are you interested in scientific writing, management, outreach and communication? Would you like to contribute to the success of quantum science and technology? The Center for Integrated Quantum Science and Technology (IQST , www.iqst.org) has been established in 2014 as one of the first hubs worldwide dedicated to developing innovative technologies from fundamental quantum physics. The key to achieving this goal is to stimulate, expand and support synergies between the fields of natural, engineering, and life sciences. IQST brings together a team of physicists, chemists, engineers, and life scientists at the University of Stuttgart, Ulm University and the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart. At the IQST, you will  Develop ideas and concepts for new programmes, facilitate IQST‘s internal calls and evaluations  Coordinate IQST’s activities, including the graduate school as well as the cooperation with IQST‘s international partners  Facilitate and support grant writing in the field of quantum technologies and write reports for funding bodies  Organise and implement scientific conferences, workshops and seminars.  Support the IQST directors in administrative tasks and create documentation and reporting to various committees and boards  Participate in international conferences, workshops, and trade fairs to stay up-to-date and represent IQST  Establish and drive IQST’s communication and public outreach activities via web, social media, and dedicated outreach activities. What IQST offers you:  A responsible and multifaceted field of activities in science management with very close contact to current research  An interdisciplinary working environment with good opportunities for further training and development  Office location at the University of Stuttgart and access to all university facilities (including Mensa, University sports, and further training) and an allowance for public transport  Flexibility: Individual working hours, part-time possible  Salary according to qualification and professional suitability up to max. EG 13. What you should bring:  PhD in physics or another natural or engineering science, preferably with a background in quantum science and technology  Experience in managing international projects and knowledge of administration in a university context  Preferably experience in applications for third-party funding, e.g. DFG, BMBF, …  Very good organisation skills and knowledge of the German and English language  High self-motivation, problem-solving skills, and flexibility and the ability to work both in a team and independently  Outstanding skills in scientific writing and communication in English and German The position is to be filled as soon as possible and is limited until 31.12.2026, the office location will be at Stuttgart.
