The Institute for Physical Research (IPR) is inviting applications for a fully funded PhD research position in experimental Quantum Optics. We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, and well-qualified scientist to join our collaborative, stimulating, and friendly research environment.

About the Position
The successful candidate will become a member of the Quantum Optics group, led by Dr. Mikayel Khanbekyan. Our group is at the forefront of research in hot atomic vapor spectroscopy, with applications spanning advanced sensing technologies and fundamental quantum physics. The PhD candidate will be expected to make significant contributions to experimental advancements in these cutting-edge areas, working alongside leading researchers and institutions.

Collaborative Opportunities
This position offers exceptional collaborative opportunities through an extensive network, including Prof. Sarkisyan and Prof. Papoyan’s research groups at IPR, Prof. R. Löw at the University of Stuttgart, Germany, Prof. D. Budker at the University of Mainz, Germany.

Qualifications

An internationally recognized Master degree in Physics in physics, electrical engineering, materials science, or a related STEM field. Candidates currently completing a Master's program are also encouraged to apply. Good written and spoken English skills are essential.

Location: IPR is situated in Ashtarak, Armenia, a short 18 km drive from Yerevan - the vibrant capital city of Armenia, offering a rich cultural experience and modern amenities.
