The Munich Quantum Valley (MQV) Initiative aims to establish Quantum Computation and Quantum Technologies in Bavaria, Germany. Its doctoral fellowship program invites applications for PhD fellowships starting in the summer or fall of 2023. Successful applicants receive an ad personam fellowship – they may freely seek to join any research group involved in research on Quantum Science and Technology at any Bavarian university. Fields of research covered by MQV include atomic physics and quantum optics, solid-state physics and material science, quantum many-body systems, quantum information theory, applications of quantum computers, as well as aspects of both electrical engineering and computer science (programming languages, software for quantum computing, execution environments, design automation, computer architecture). The MQV fellowship program is committed to recruiting extraordinary students from diverse backgrounds and meeting them with openness and respect. We explicitly encourage female candidates to apply and welcome students from all countries! Applicants must have completed a Master’s degree (or equivalent) with very good grades by the end of September, 2023. All fellowships are fully funded for three years and there are no tuition fees .
