ASTERIQS and macQsimal projects are organizing the Basel Quantum Metrology and Sensing Conference 2020

Published on December 12th, 2019

Organized in the framework of the Quantum Flagship projects ASTERIQS and macQsimal, the Basel Quantum Metrology and Sensing Conference 2020 (BQMS-2020) will take place on 12-14 February 2020 to highlight the state of the art and most recent advances in quantum sensing and quantum metrology with atomic and solid-state spin systems.

The conference aims to gather key global players in these fields and focus on both fundamental research and engineering relevant to these highly active fields of quantum technology development. It will be hosted at the University of Basel, Switzerland, an institution known for its long tradition in quantum technologies and nanoscience research.

BQMS-2020 will feature invited talks given by world-leading experts from Europe and overseas as well as contributed talks and posters selected from the submitted abstracts, all in a single, thematically focused session. The conference is open to all researchers in the field. It is organized in the framework of the ASTERIQS and macQsimal projects of the EU Quantum Technologies Flagship with the goal to be a forum for the entire community.

Both projects that are coordinating the event are two of the four projects that have been selected within the Sensing and Metrology Application area of the Quantum Flagship.

ASTERIQS aims to develop applications based on the NV- centre in diamond that go outside of the laboratory and bring solutions to societal and economical needs where no solution exists yet.

MacQsimal will design, develop, miniaturise and integrate advanced quantum-enabled sensors with outstanding sensitivity, to measure physical observables in five key areas: magnetic fields, time, rotation, electro-magnetic radiation and gas concentration.

You will find all the relevant information on the conference website and enclosed the flyer.
