As part of the PICs@ICFO Strategic Initiative, ICFO coordinates PIXEurope, a flagship Pilot Line funded under the European Chips JU program and participates in the Photonic Chips Spain Competence Center (PIXSpain Competence Center) .

With €400 million in investments and a consortium of 20 partners across 11 countries, the PIXEurope project aims to reinforce Europe’s strategic autonomy in photonic technologies and accelerate industrial uptake of cutting-edge integrated photonics. Over the next decade, PIXEurope will enable the transfer of advanced technologies to manufacturing environments, while fostering innovation and scalability across the European photonics ecosystem.

The PIXSpain Competence Center is a collaborative initiative involving a consortium of 6 leading universities and research centers aimed at developing a center for training, capacity building, and technological support in photonic integration technologies, primarily serving SMEs and startups at both the national and European levels, that will be integrated into the European Network of Chip Competence Centers, facilitating cross-border collaboration and knowledge sharing.

We are seeking a proactive and dynamic Ecosystem Manager to join our Knowledge and Technology Transfer (KTT) Team and support the Photonics Chips Spain Competence Center (PIXSpain CC) initiative, contributing to the broader PIXEurope pilot line effort.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Coordinate and maintain active connections with Chips JU Pilot Lines, especially PIXEurope, fostering collaboration and synergy.
  • Organize and deliver high-quality events and engagement activities for stakeholders across the photonics and semiconductor ecosystems.
  • Identify, develop, and help secure new project opportunities, both from public funding programs (e.g., EU, national, regional) and private partnerships.
  • Strategically support ICFO’s role in PIXSpain CC and PIXEurope by liaising with partners, stakeholders, and relevant institutions.
