QuiX Quantum is at the forefront of the development of photonic quantum computing, a rapidly developing sector. We are a tech start-up based in Enschede, the Netherlands. Since our start in 2019, we have presented two world record-breaking quantum photonic processors. As a fast-growing company, we are now looking for support for our quantum computing hardware team. What will you be doing? As a quantum physicist, you will be studying and working with our quantum computing machines. You will learn how the machines work and how to operate them. It is your task to discern the physical aspects of the quantum computer that need to be addressed and propose ideas to improve them. It is possible to adjust the job to your wishes. You will take care of: • Daily operation of our quantum computer • Keeping yourself up to date and update others about the latest developments in the world about quantum computing. • Identify and study key physical processes in the quantum computer • Propose ideas where the hardware/experimental work should go • Report findings and attend weekly meetings. We can shape the position depending on seniority. What we ask of you: • Technical background, PhD preferred, exceptional master’s students considered. • Prior experience with quantum • Lab experience is optional • Passion for your profession • Pro-active, innovative, accurate and independent style of working • Proficiency in English language (verbal & written) What to expect from us: Working in a start-up means that your work contributes directly to the direction of the company. Your workplace will be in Enschede. As we have become used in recent years, occasionally working at home is possible. At the office, we like to have lunch together at our big lunch table, or preferable outside in the sun. On Fridays, we end the week with a beer and a competition of pinball and foosball! Employment conditions: The position is fulltime or parttime available. Your salary depends on both your education and experience.
