QSilver is QWorld’s intermediate level workshop series (16 to 20 hours) on quantum computing and programming focusing on complex numbers, QFT and Shor’s Algorithm completed in 2021. Prior completion of QBronze is recommended.
Training for school students,
In our project "Quantenphysikalische Inhalte aus der modernen Forschung" we offer high school students multiple experiments concerning current research, including basic principles of quantum physics and applications. They have the opportunity to work in an authentic laboratory environment with state-of-the-art equipment. The project includes topics like the double-slit experiment or the quantum eraser to convey basic principles of quantum physics. The students can setup a solid-state laser, work with an optical tweezer or test the functionality of quantum cryptography. To introduce high school students to current research on ultracold atoms we recently completed a magneto-optical trap for rubidium, a highlight for any school lab. Furthermore, we develop education projects in the field of quantum technologies, like the functionality of atomic clocks.
Quantum Information Processing - Budapest University of Technology and Economics
Introductory university course on hands-on quantum computing. One goal is to introduce quantum information theory and computing. Another goal is to provide hands-on experience in programming an actual quantum computer. That is, the basic concepts, gadgets, algorithms, etc., should be implemented and run by the students themselves, partly during the lectures, partly as homework. We will use the quantum computers of the IBM Quantum Experience project, which are available via the cloud for anyone.
Institute of Physics, Budapest University of Technology and Economics
This 60 credits research-oriented Master that can be considered a step toward doctoral studies. The one-year programme, finalized with a research-based Master Thesis, is available for up to 20 students per year. The courses (compulsory and by choice) are taught in English by professors and researchers with proven track record in both teaching and research. The courses include fundamental quantum theory (from condensed matter to quantum field and gravitation) and its various applications in information processing and other technologies.
Elective course for pre-univesity level
This is an active-learning course on the fundamentals of quantum mechanics designed for pre-university level. In it we investigate the double well system to get as close as possible to what students commonly understand as mechanics: position, velocity (momentum), energy. It is being considered as an on-line active-engagement course.
University of Ljubljana Faculty of Mathematics and Physics
The Ph.D. candidate enrolled in this program will receive a state-of-the-art education in the basic ideas of quantum science, in the main material platforms used in experiments, and in the mathematical concepts used for their description, as well as in the information and computation science concepts that aim at exploiting QST for applications. She/he will be expected to carry out cutting-edge research on subjects of interest of the Q@TN consortium, possibly in collaboration with our international project partners.
Quantum World Lecture in Pre-service Teacher Education
The academic teacher education is a didactic course for academic physics students, in order to become a pre-university teacher. Part of this education is a lecture about the didactics of Quantum World.

We try to motivate high school pupils to enter the world of Physics by showing them the newest aspects and applications of Quantum Physics. We organize workshops with diverse topics where the pupils not only perform interesting experiments but also directly interact with the researchers of that topic.
