Call for proposals - Sponsorship for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion prize at EQTC 2024

The Quantum Flagship invites submissions of sponsorship proposals for the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion prize at EQTC 2024 by 5 August.

The call is for sponsorship proposals for the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion prize which will be awarded at European Quantum Technologies Conference (EQTC) 2024. The EQTC 2024 is a significant interdisciplinary, international conference and will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, from 18 to 20 November 2024. It will highlight the latest advancements in Quantum Information Science and Technology, addressing the associated scientific and technological challenges. The conference will include a plenary session on diversity, various networking opportunities, exhibition spaces, and will recognise champions in advancing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion within their institutions through the 'EDI prize 2024'.

The inaugural EDI prize of €2,000 was awarded by the Quantum Flagship CSA at EQTC 2023 and sponsored by QuDora company. Companies are invited to propose sponsorships for the EDI prize 2024 in amounts of €500, €1,500, or €2,000, with sponsors transferring funds directly to the prize winners.

Following the collection of sponsorships, nominations for the award will be solicited, and applicants' commitments to equity, diversity, and inclusion in their institutions or networks will be evaluated by the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Working Group (EDI-WG) of Quantum Flagship and the EQTC organising committee using the following criteria:

Track record of past actions (5 points)
Impact of actions (5 points)
Future commitments (5 points)

The prize will be announced during a plenary session at EQTC 2024, aiming to provide recognition and visibility to these efforts.
