We are looking for a Quantum Error Correction Engineer who will join our team of Quantum Physicists creating blueprints and strategies for next-generation quantum computers, with a specific focus on fully fault-tolerant implementations using the ParityQC Architecture.
Your Tasks
As a Quantum Error Correction Engineer, you will develop pioneering algorithms in the realm of quantum computing. These novel quantum algorithms are specifically co-designed to run on various quantum computing platforms. You will utilize the specific advantages of different quantum error correction codes or noise-biased hardware platforms to develop fully fault-tolerant strategies for implementing universal quantum algorithms in the ParityQC Architecture. You will also be involved in noise simulations to study and improve the resulting error rates of the developed implementations and find suitable near-term applications.
Skills & Experience
Required Skills & Experience
PhD in (theoretical) physics, mathematics, or related subject with a focus on quantum computation
Deep understanding of quantum computation and quantum information, in particular experience with quantum error correction codes and stabilizer formalism
Basic programming skills
High degree of creativity and pro-activeness
Ability to work self-initiated and independently, experience in research
Fluency in English
Preferred Experience
A proven track record in quantum computing with a focus on implementing quantum algorithms in a fault-tolerant manner
Experience with object-oriented programming and software development, in particular in Python
Knowledge of noise-biased hardware platforms, e.g. bosonic codes
What we offer
We are a spin-off working in one of the most exciting emerging technology fields. There are no long-time proven concepts on what we are doing – we need to invent everything from scratch, and we are therefore able to shape a whole new generation of computing. We are pioneers in this field and develop the blueprints for the upcoming generations. The position offers the possibility to conduct research and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
Why ParityQC?
Excellent work-life balance
Flexible working hours with home office options
An innovative and international working environment
Continuous training and encouragement of personal development
Hard Facts
Job: Full time
Hours of work per week: 38,5 hours
Remuneration based on experience
Place: Innsbruck
