Post-doctoral position on ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy in colloidal quantum dots for infrared optoelectronic applications

ICFO is offering a postdoctoral position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment. The Functional Optoelectronic NanoMaterials group led by ICREA Prof. Gerasimos Konstantatos is looking for outstanding, creative and highly motivated researchers to join the group to contribute on activities towards highly performant, CMOS compatible, infrared colloidal quantum dot photodetectors and light emitters. Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the nearest future) preferably in Physics or Electrical Engineering, prior to taking up the position. Positively valued will be demonstrated expertise on ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy and strong background on studying carrier dynamics in semiconductors and particularly quantum confined systems. The candidate will be working closely with synthetic chemists, physicists and device engineers to provide insights on carrier dynamics of infrared colloidal quantum dot films. The candidate will investigate carrier relaxation in doped and undoped QD systems and the dynamics of interband and intersubband transitions that are relevant for optoelectronic device operation. Prior expertise on transient absorption spectroscopy in the mid and long wave infrared will be positively evaluated. ICFO is an equal opportunity employer.
