Survey of QT Outreach and Training

Published on March 8th, 2019

Dear Colleagues,

The Quantum Flagship coordination action is working on coordinating training activities in the area of modern quantum technologies in Europe. As a starting point, we would like to understand and survey what already exists – we do not have to re-invent the wheel but rather help everybody to develop together. We would like to ask you to fill in this little survey:

until March 25th. As for the documents, we ask you to upload – really, anything you already have is useful. We will create a database and use this for further networking. It would be great if these documents were in English – if not, we will engage with your local QCN member.

Thanks a lot and let us know if you have any other questions at fwm@lusi.uni-sb.de.

Yours sincerely

  • World’s first link layer protocol brings quantum internet closer to a reality

Researchers from QuTech have achieved a world’s first in quantum internet technology. A team led by Professor Stephanie Wehner has developed a so-called link layer protocol that brings the phenomenon of ‘quantum entanglement’ from a physics experiment towards a real world quantum network. This brings closer the day when quantum internet can become a reality, delivering applications that are impossible to achieve using a ‘classical’ internet. The work was published recently at ACM SIGCOMM.
