European Quantum Technologies Community Meeting

Over 250 participants expected in Oberkochen, Germany on April, 19th to launch the Quantum Coordination and Support Action (QSA).

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the latest Quantum Flagship developments, discuss with representatives of the QSA and the European Commission and participate in workshops on various topics connected to Quantum Technologies including the Flagship’s strategic research agenda, academia-industry partnerships and innovation, and international cooperation in the field of Quantum Technologies.

The detailed agenda of the meeting can be found below. QT community members are encouraged to register and participate and use this chance to help shape the future of our field!

Also, the scientific ZEISS symposium “Optics in the Quantum World” will be held at the same location during the two days before the community meeting. Our host ZEISS kindly invites you to also participate in this exciting event! Notice that no participation fee will be charged for either event.

  • World’s first link layer protocol brings quantum internet closer to a reality

    Researchers from QuTech have achieved a world’s first in quantum internet technology. A team led by Professor Stephanie Wehner has developed a so-called link layer protocol that brings the phenomenon of ‘quantum entanglement’ from a physics experiment towards a real world quantum network. This brings closer the day when quantum internet can become a reality, delivering applications that are impossible to achieve using a ‘classical’ internet. The work was published recently at ACM SIGCOMM.

  • Registration open - Quantum Flagship event “Exploring and Making Quantum Technology”

    On July 1st 2019, and for the remaining of 2019, Finland took over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. As part of its institutional and scientific agenda, on October 17-18th it will be hosting the Finnish Presidency-Quantum Flagship event entitled “Exploring and Making Quantum Technology”.
