The second phase of the public consultation on the updated Strategic Research and Industry Agenda (SRIA) for quantum technologies is now open. The editor groups have integrated the feedback received in Phase I, and the roadmaps now sit alongside new chapters on funding, intellectual property, skills and governance, among others. All of them are brought together in a single document. Review the complete draft and submit your comments until 2 October 2026.
Earlier this year, the Quantum Flagship invited the community to review the first drafts of six technology roadmaps. The response was invaluable, with over 100 contributions. Editor groups from across Europe's quantum ecosystem have carefully reviewed every contribution and used it to strengthen the chapters.
Phase II builds on that work. For the first time, the updated SRIA can be read as a whole: one PDF that brings together the revised technology roadmaps and the cross-cutting chapters that complete Europe's shared vision for quantum technologies through to 2035. This is the moment to make sure every chapter is accurate, consistent and ready for publication.

The draft has now reached an advanced stage. At this point, the most helpful contributions are ones our editor groups can act on directly. We are looking for specific, technical feedback. The best comments are concise, well explained and to the point. Ideally, each one should:
Wherever possible, we encourage you to suggest direct edits to excerpts of the text. Why? A general comment can be read in more than one way. However, a proposed rewording is direct, which makes it far more likely that your contribution will reach the final version.
The editor groups will consolidate a large number of contributions in a short time. For that reason, this phase is not the right place for broader commentary or opening new discussion points without a concrete proposal.
The consultation is open to everyone with an interest in quantum technologies, including researchers, industry representatives, policymakers, students and members of the wider public. You don't need to have taken part in Phase I, and you don't need to read the whole document. Focus on the chapters and sections closest to your expertise.

Choose the chapter you want to comment on.
Submit your feedback through that chapter's questionnaire. Responses can be submitted anonymously. The questionnaires will not collect your name or email address unless you choose to provide it. The draft is now a single document, but each chapter still has its own form, so your comments go straight to the right editor group. The links are:
The consultation closes on 2 October 2026.
