The role
A different kind of light: Nu Quantum is one of the first companies world-wide developing commercial single-photon source technology. You will be part of the team developing the first generation of Nu Quantum single-photon source products. You will be involved in the design, basic fabrication, measurement and optimisation of the single-photon devices, as well as the design, implementation, and use of the confocal microscopy and quantum optics measurement suite.
Qualifications, skills, and experience
– First-class degree in a numerate subject.
– PhD in experimental quantum optics with a focus on the design, fabrication, characterisation or employment solid-state single-photon source systems. Skills may include:
– Confocal microscopy, single-photon spectroscopy, photon-correlation measurements, interferometry, handling of continuous and pulsed lasers.
– Experience with basic cleanroom fabrication techniques: e.g. lithography, contact evaporation, general wet bench use.
– LabView and Python competence for instrumentation and data analysis.
– Good communication skills.
– A proactive, positive and creative mindset
