The position is offered in a multidisciplinary collaboration with partners from science and industry. You will experimentally investigate novel radar paradigms in illumination-type sensing based on propagating quantum microwaves. Your work is embedded into the quantum technology network formed by the WMI, the Excellence Cluster MCQST (https://www.mcqst.de/), the TU München (https://www.tum.de/), the EU Quantum Flagship project QMiCS (https://qmics.wmi.badw.de), and several companies working on quantum technology in the Munich area. The intended contract duration is 3 years.
You are eager to lead an ambitious experiment based on continuous-variable quantum microwaves generated by superconducting circuits and qubit-based microwave photon detectors. You hold a PhD degree in physics or a similar field of study with a solid background in quantum information, quantum communication, or quantum sensing. Proven expertise in the fabrication and/or control of superconducting quantum circuits at microwave frequencies and cryogenic temperatures is considered as an advantage.
