PhD/Postdoc position in superconducting circuits


The national large-scale project titled “QSolid” aims to realize a quantum computer on the basis of superconducting circuits within the next five years. Within this context, PTB is especially concentrating on the design, fabrication and characterization of parametric amplifiers to measure the qubit state more quickly and more precisely. Another focal point is the use of superconducting qubits to realize robust methods of measurement that have quantum precision.
Your work here will focus on:
Developing and fabricating superconducting Josephson circuits, including qubits, based on the aluminum- and niobium technology at PTB’s clean room
Simulating the high-frequency characteristics of the circuits
Commissioning and further developing the cryogenic measuring setups in the microwave frequency range
Characterizing the circuits at low temperatures in a dilution refrigerator
Presenting and publishing the scientific results
