Interruptor Background 02

PhD/Postdoc @ Bordeaux Computer Science Lab

University of Bordeaux

Multiple PhD and postdoc positions available at the Bordeaux Computer Science Lab. We seek motivated candidates that are interested in research on quantum information, quantum algorithms, and mathematical optimization. Specific topics they can expect to work on are:

Mathematical optimization in quantum information and computation: (contact: felix.huber@labri.fr)
  • approximation algorithms for ground state energies
  • characterization of quantum codes, quantum capacities, entanglement and nonlocality
  • machine learning for optimization

Quantum algorithms for MCMC and optimization methods: (contact: yassine.hamoudi@labri.fr)
  • quantum speedups for algorithmic convex geometry
  • discrete-time quantum walks
  • algorithms and lower bounds in query complexity
Candidates can have training or experience in the following areas: quantum information and computation, mathematical programming, algorithmic theory, complexity theory, coding theory. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, and promote a friendly, safe, and supporting team work environment.

More information can be found at https://quantique.labri.fr/positions/.

How to apply

Applications (CV, publication list, thesis, research plan for postdocs) are reviewed on a rolling basis.
